Steven D. Colquhoun

Steven D. Colquhoun, M.D. is a liver, bile duct, and pancreas surgeon, transplant surgeon and surgical oncologist with board certification in both general and critical care surgery. Steven completed fellowships in both surgical oncology and multi-organ transplant surgery at UCLA. He performs both open and robotic minimally invasive surgery.

Early in his career, Steven founded a new liver transplant program at the University of California Davis before being recruited to Cedars-Sinai where he directed the Liver Transplant Program for the next 20 years. During that time, he also established and directed a Fellowship authorized by the American Society of Transplant Surgeons for training in both liver and kidney transplantation, as well as hepatopancreaticobiliary surgery. A proud recipient of teaching awards, Steven is passionate about education and has lectured at the UCLA medical school for over 18 years while participating in the training of a generation of residents and fellows throughout his career. He has served on medical school admissions and many committees for the ASTS, AST, AASLD and UNOS. Steven continues to actively participate in clinical research and has published over 200 abstracts, papers and book chapters. He is the past recipient of numerous research grants and funds, including from the NIH.
