Andy Heffernan is the Chief Executive of The Alzheimer Society of Ireland since May 2022, an organization that provides dementia-specific services and advocates for individuals living with dementia and their carers. Additionally, Andy serves as a Board Member for Alzheimer Europe and Acquired Brain Injury Ireland. Previously, Andy held the position of National Secretary at the Society of St. Vincent de Paul Ireland from July 2014 to May 2022 and worked as Chief Executive at St John of God Community Services Ltd from November 2008 to December 2013, overseeing services for mental health and intellectual disabilities. Andy's extensive experience includes leadership roles in various organizations and a notable tenure as Comdt in the Defence Forces of Ireland. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Science from the University of Galway, an MSc from Ulster University, and a Certificate in Charity Law from the Law Society of Ireland.
