Katie Shahwan, MD, FAAD, currently serves as a Mohs Surgeon and Dermatologist at Altru Health System and a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of North Dakota since August 2021. Additionally, Katie holds the position of Adjunct Assistant Professor and Researcher at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and has completed a Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology Fellowship there. As a Professor and Medical Director for the HEAL program with the National Student Leadership Conference since June 2019, Katie has contributed significantly to medical education. Katie's previous experience includes serving as Chief Resident during dermatology residency at the University of Minnesota Medical School and as an Adjunct Faculty Dermatology Instructor at Northwestern Health Sciences University. Educational qualifications include an MD from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science and a BS in Neuroscience from the University of St. Thomas.
