Scott Scharpen is the Chief Strategy Officer for Mission Increase (MI), a 501c3 organization whose mission is to equip nonprofits, givers, and churches to multiply their collective Kingdom impact so that lives are transformed for Jesus (Ephesians 4:11-16). MI is working with over 3,000 nonprofit ministries in 23 regions across the country, and MI’s ministry partners have generated a cumulative impact of more than $2 billion in additional Kingdom resources since its founding in 1999.
Prior to his work at Mission Increase, Scott served as president of the The Scharpen Foundation, a Christian non-profit that he and his wife Carolyn founded in 2007. While the Foundation has been involved in a variety of activities since its founding, the Foundation’s principal work has included a church plant (Rock Valley Christian Church, at which Scott still serves as a part-time volunteer pastor and board member) and the operation of a pro-life licensed mobile pregnancy clinic from 2013 to 2019.
Before devoting time to The Scharpen Foundation, Scott enjoyed a successful consulting career from 1991 to 2007 as a healthcare business executive and owner at Stockamp & Associates, helping its clients generate significant net revenue and process improvement. Scott worked with some of the nation’s leading healthcare providers such as New York-Presbyterian, Northwestern Hospital, Stanford University, Loma Linda University, and Intermountain Healthcare.
Scott served as board chairman from 2008-2018 at ParentalRights.org, an organization dedicated to preserving the fundamental right of parents to protect the upbringing, care, and education of their children.
A member of the Alliance Defending Freedom board of directors since 2018, Scott also chairs the Strategic Development Committee of the board.
Scott has a degree in economics from Stanford University.
