Rob Fatland is a Research Computing Director jointly at the University of Washington eScience Institute and the UW division of Information Technology. He works on adoption of technologies and methods to advance data-driven research with an emphasis on cloud computing. His background is in earth science, particularly satellite remote sensing of glaciers. Through freelance activities he is a long-time supporter of K20 mathematics, science and computing.
