Jerry Chen is currently an assistant professor at Boston University. He obtained his bachelor's degree in the Department of Molecular and Cell Biology at UC Berkeley in 2003. He obtained his PhD in 2010 in the Department of Biology at MIT where he worked with Prof. Elly Nedivi on the structural and synaptic plasticity of inhibitory circuits in the adult cortex. From 2011 to 2016 he was a post-doctoral fellow in the laboratory of Prof. Fritjof Helmchen in the Brain Research Institute of the University of Zurich, funded by the International Research Fellowship Program by the National Science Foundation, where he studied the function of local and long-range cortical circuits during behavior.
