Dev Vardhan is a senior partner in McKinsey & Company’s Chicago office. In his more than 25 years of experience at McKinsey, Dev has advised and helped hundreds of CEOs, general managers and functional leaders, strategize and drive digital and business transformation.
Dev has deep functional expertise in marketing, product design and innovation. Previously at McKinsey, he led the Marketing Strategy service line, accountable for building and deploying leading-edge advanced analytics and digital marketing capabilities for the Americas Consumer Packaged Goods sector. He also led the North American Product Design and Innovation service line across all sectors.
During his tenure at McKinsey, Dev has created opportunities, mentored and coached hundreds of colleagues, helping elect three generations of partners – over fifty partners and twenty senior partners.
Prior to McKinsey, Dev worked for the Indian Administrative Service and Hindustan Lever – Unilever’s Indian subsidiary. For the Indian Administrative Service, he was one of 100 candidates selected from more than 1 million applicants. While in the service, he held several top government and public sector roles, including undersecretary of Internal Affairs, executive director of State Industrial and Investment Corporation, leader of Small Business Administration and head of development and administration for a district. At Hindustan Lever, he worked on several general management and engineering initiatives at one of their largest factories.
After growing up in India, Dev attained an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and was designated an Arjay Miller Scholar. He was also a valedictorian in his Bachelor of Technology class at the Indian Institute of Technology.
