Amanda Barreto is a Ph.D. student and graduate teaching assistant at Duke University Pratt School of Engineering, focusing on biomedical and medical engineering. In this role, Amanda helps develop curricula for courses such as Stem Cells in Engineering and Medicine and Physiology for Engineers, under the direction of Dr. Samira Musah. Amanda is also the recipient of the Alfred P. Sloan Graduate Research Fellowship and has completed internships with United Therapeutics Corporation and the National Institutes of Health, where Amanda holds the NIH T32-Duke CBTE Fellowship. Prior to Duke, Amanda was a NIH T34-MARC U*STAR Fellow at Florida International University, where a Bachelor of Science in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering was earned. Amanda has also participated in research and internship programs at numerous prestigious institutions, including the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
