Jamshid Ourmazdi is a highly experienced software and firmware engineer with a strong background in embedded systems and low-power technologies. Currently serving as a Senior Software Engineer at Alcon since August 2021, Jamshid has significantly enhanced the LenSx femtosecond laser platform through software refactoring and the development of a new cut pattern calculation framework. Prior to this role, Jamshid worked at Broadcom Inc. as a Senior Firmware Engineer, where improvements to diagnostic tools and automation frameworks were achieved. At Maxim Integrated Products, Jamshid developed ultra-low power modes for biometric sensor hubs, leading to substantial reductions in CPU utilization and power consumption. Earlier positions include roles at Philips and Specnor Tecnic, where Jamshid contributed to firmware development and hardware design for various products. Jamshid holds a Master’s degree in Computer Engineering from Concordia University and a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from IUST.
