Melissa L'Heureux is an experienced communications professional currently serving as an Issues Manager and Communications Advisor in the Housing Division of the Government of Alberta, a role held since December 2017. In this capacity, Melissa supports and mentors junior communications advisors, reviews communications briefings, and develops mitigating strategies. Prior achievements include acting as Assistant Communications Director and successfully mentoring colleagues in issues management. Previously, Melissa coordinated marketing and communications for Boys & Girls Clubs Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton & Area, contributing to a highly successful Dream Home Lottery. Additionally, experience includes a communications officer role with the Alberta Rural Development Network and earlier positions in customer service and childcare. Educational credentials include a Marketing Strategy Certificate from Cornell University and a Bachelor of Applied Communications in Professional Writing from MacEwan University, awarded with distinction.
