Deb Howland has extensive experience in compliance, business analysis, and project management within the energy sector. Currently serving as a Senior Compliance Specialist at AESO since February 2015, Deb is responsible for ensuring adherence to the Alberta Reliability Standard Critical Infrastructure Protection standard, developing controls, and representing AESO in audits. Previously, Deb held multiple senior business analyst roles across organizations including Suncor Energy and TransCanada, focusing on business process modeling and requirements documentation. Deb's career began with a foundation in software development, with key roles at IHS Markit and various organizations in the late 1980s and 1990s. Deb holds a BSc in Computer Science from the University of Calgary and a CPSC in Computing Science from NAIT.
