Derek E. began their work experience in 2009 as a Section Chief in the US Army. Derek held this role until 2015. In 2015, Derek transitioned to a Desktop Support Specialist role as a contractor. Derek worked in this position until 2018 when they joined Alameda Health System as an IT Specialist. Currently, Derek is still employed by Alameda Health System.

Derek E. completed their education from Western Governors University in 2017, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Business - Information Technology Management. Before that, they attended City College of San Francisco from 2015 to 2017, studying Computer Networking and Information Technology with a focus on Network Security. In addition to their formal education, Derek has obtained several certifications, including Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate from Microsoft in January 2023, CCNA from Cisco in August 2021, CKAD: Certified Kubernetes Application Developer from The Linux Foundation in July 2021, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in January 2021, and ITIL® 4 Foundation CPD from AXELOS Global Best Practice in November 2020.
