Houssain Kettani serves as a Professor and Chair of Computer Science at Al Akhawayn University since 2022 and is also the Founding Director of the Center of Muslim Population Studies (CoMPS), which focuses on the historical and predictive demographics of Islam across various countries. Previous academic roles include professorships in Computer Science and Cyber Security at the University of South Carolina Aiken, Dakota State University, and Florida Polytechnic University, where Kettani taught a range of courses and contributed to the accreditation processes. Notably, during tenure as Professor and Director of Computer Science and Information Systems Engineering at Fort Hays State University, Kettani directed a national center of excellence in information assurance and cyber defense. Kettani's academic qualifications include a Ph.D. and Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Bachelor's degree from Eastern Mediterranean University.
