Debbie Barry has extensive work experience in the housing industry. Debbie began their career as a Property Manager at Associated Estates Realty Corp in 1993 and then moved on to become the Director of Operations at Millennia Housing Management, LTD. in 1997. In 2008, they joined Akron Metropolitan Housing Authority, where they held various roles including Housing Choice Voucher Program Manager, Director of Operations, and Deputy Director. Debbie currently holds the position of Deputy Director, which they have been in since August 2018.

Debbie Barry pursued their undergraduate education from 1988 to 1992 at John Carroll University. During this period, they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree with a specialization in Mathematics.
