Simen Vogt-Svendsen has extensive work experience in the field of hydropower. Simen currently holds the position of Vice President Hydropower Technology at Aker Solutions, where they lead the technology departments and is responsible for the development of electro-mechanical technology for the hydropower industry. Prior to this, they worked as a Lecturer on hydropower at the International Centre for Hydropower. Simen also served as a Senior Advisor at Statkraft, where they managed various strategy, development, and improvement projects in the production department. Additionally, they held the role of Maintenance Manager at SN Power AS, overseeing the maintenance division of two power plants. Simen's earlier experience includes working as a Mechanical Engineer at Statkraft and as a Board Member at Norges studentidrettsforbund. Simen holds a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from NTNU and was the President and Chairman of the Executive Board at NTNUI, the largest athletic association in Norway. Prior to their career in the energy industry, Simen served as a special forces soldier in the Norwegian military.
Simen Vogt-Svendsen obtained their Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from The University of British Columbia from 2006 to 2010. Simen went on to pursue a Master's degree in Energy, process and fluid dynamics at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) from 2010 to 2012.
