Sumit Jamgade has had a long and varied career in software engineering. Sumit began their career in 2012 as a Chief Teaching Assistant at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. In 2013, they joined Druva as a Software Engineer, where they were part of a team developing an agent installed on devices to be backed-up. In 2015, they joined EnCloudEn as their first employee and Chief Architect, where they built their flagship product, an Orchestration Engine to manage installed software on cloud-based VMs. In 2017, they joined SUSE as an OpenStack Core, where they contributed to their OpenStack Orchestration Engine, maintaining previous releases and helping with upgrades with minimum API downtime and almost no workload downtime. Finally, in 2020, they joined Aiven as a Senior Software Engineer.

Sumit Jamgade received a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from Shri Ramdeobaba Kamla Nehru Engineering College in 2010 and a Master's Degree in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay in 2013.
