Liyin Tang is a seasoned professional in data infrastructure with extensive experience in leading engineering teams and contributing to open-source projects. Since August 2015, Liyin has been with Airbnb, currently serving as a Senior Engineering Manager for the Data Infrastructure team, overseeing over 30 engineers and tackling complex challenges related to infrastructure, compute engines, and workflow management. Additionally, Liyin is an HBase Committer and a member of the Project Management Committee at The Apache Software Foundation. Previous positions include Software Engineer roles at Dropbox and Facebook, where responsibilities encompassed message infrastructure and core data tasks. Liyin's early career included research positions at Microsoft Research Asia and the Information Sciences Institute. Liyin holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Engineering in Software Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
