Markus Pelikan is a seasoned compliance and legal professional with extensive experience in the financial sector. Currently serving as Compliance Officer and Anti Money Laundering Officer at Agricultural Bank of China since January 2018, Markus also holds the position of Head of Legal & Compliance AML Rechtsanwalt. Markus has maintained a concurrent role at PELIKAN law firm since February 1999 as a German Lawyer (Rechtsanwalt). Previous positions include Head of Legal & Human Resources at HKB Bank GmbH, where responsibilities encompassed legal issues, HR, compliance, anti-money laundering, and data protection, as well as managerial roles at Bethmann Bank AG, DIL - Deutsche Immobilien Leasing GmbH, and IKB Deutsche Industriebank AG. Markus’s academic background includes a First State Law Exam from the University of Münster and a Real Estate Economist degree from the Property Management Academy, coupled with specialized training through a Legal Clerkship.
