Gregory L. Jefferson, Sr. is a seasoned legislative representative at AFL-CIO since September 2003. With a rich background in governance, Gregory served as a board member for the National Consumers League from 2010 to 2021 and was a commissioner for the DC Government from June 2016 to March 2019, appointed by the mayor. Additional board member roles include service at HumanitiesDC from 2010 to October 2016 and The Ridley Scholarship Fund from 2007 to June 2015. Previous experience includes a position as chief of staff at the Employment Standards Administration within the US Department of Labor from January 2000 to January 2001 and counsel for the U.S. House of Representatives Committee On Education And The Workforce Subcommittee On Oversight from May 1998 to January 2000. Gregory holds a JD from The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law (1992-1995) and a BA in Government and Foreign Affairs from the University of Virginia (1987-1991).
