Luk is the Grousbeck Family Chair in Gene Therapy and Director of the Grousbeck Gene Therapy Center at Massachusetts Eye and Ear, and Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at Harvard Medical School. He is a renowned scientific leader in AAV gene therapy research and development and a Scientific Co-Founder and Adviser to Affinia Therapeutics. He has authored over 80 publications, holds more than 12 patents, and is a Co-Inventor of AAV9, a vector used in many gene therapies. Luk is also Co-Founder of gene therapy companies Akouos, Odylia, and Albamunity. Luk trained at University of Leuven, Belgium and the University of Pennsylvania in biochemical engineering and molecular medicine.
