Malvido is a senior executive at a global scale with more than 25 years’ experience in top management, 16 of which he spent as CEO in 4 different countries: Argentina, Venezuela, Brazil and the Czech Republic.
During his career, Malvido has led the different areas of the business: new businesses launching, fast-growing companies, mergers & acquisitions, crisis management, and transformation and digitization programs.
As from 2015 up to December 2017, Malvido was Telefónica’s Executive Director for the Hispanic region of Latin America, including operations in Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Chile and Uruguay. Previously, he was Telefónica O2’s Chairman and CEO in the Czech Republic, the largest telecommunication company in said country.
He took that position after being General Manager of Telefónica’s fixed-line telephony in Brazil, providing voice, data and TV services for residential and corporate customers. As from January 2005, Malvido served as President and CEO of Telefónica Venezuela, leading its acquisition and an accelerated growth process. Before that, he served as Vice-president and CEO of Telefónica Móviles Argentina, a position he held as from June 1998.
Previously, Malvido occupied different positions in sales, customer service, business development and strategic planning, where he has proved to be a great leader.
Born in Argentina, Malvido holds a university degree in Industrial Engineering awarded by the Buenos Aires Institute of Technology (ITBA, for its acronym in Spanish). He also has postgraduate studies in the IESE in Madrid, the Institute for Business Development in Argentina (IDEA), and the ITBA in Buenos Aires.
