Cherie Xiaoyan Chen is a seasoned professional in optimization and energy market operations, currently serving as Principal Optimization Programmer at the Australian Energy Market Operator since February 2022. Prior to this role, Cherie held various positions at the Energy Market Company from January 2013 to February 2022, including Senior Manager of Optimization and Principal Market Clearing Engine Specialist. Cherie's experience also includes a tenure as Senior Consultant at Insycn Pte Ltd in 2012 and as an Optimization Consultant at ILOG/IBM from 2008 to 2012. Cherie holds a Master's degree in Materials Science and Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Nanyang Technological University Singapore.
