Michael Ortega is a Staff Attorney at the Advancement Project since January 2025, following a tenure as a Legal Fellow at the Campaign Legal Center from September 2023 to January 2025. Prior experience includes serving as a Staff Law Clerk for the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, where responsibilities involved assisting circuit judges with appellate motions and legal research. Michael's background also includes roles in voter protection during the Biden for President campaign and various internships focused on voting rights and legal research, including work with the Lawyers Committee, the City of Chicago Department of Law, and the Campaign Legal Center. Michael holds a Doctor of Law (JD) from the University of Chicago Law School and a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from the University of Miami.
