Guillermo Trabes, PhD, is currently a Member of Technical Staff (MTS) Software Development Engineer at AMD since July 2023. Prior to this role, Guillermo served as a Graduate Research Assistant at Carleton University from February 2019 to June 2023, where responsibilities included the research, design, and implementation of advanced parallelization methodologies for Discrete-Event System Specification (DEVS) simulations, utilizing heterogeneous architectures. Guillermo's work involved developing simulations for various applications, including unmanned aerial vehicles and disease spread. From October 2014 to February 2019, Guillermo was a University Researcher and Teacher at Universidad Nacional de San Luis, focusing on high-performance computing and the development of Bulk-Synchronous Parallel (BSP) models. Guillermo holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carleton University, a Licentiate degree in Computer Science, and an Analyst Programmer degree, both from Universidad Nacional de San Luis.
