Yann Evain has a diverse and extensive work experience. Yann began their career at Mobistar as a Technical Engineer from July 1996 to August 1998. Yann then joined Belgacom as a Product Manager from September 1998 to June 2005, and later as a Marketing Manager from July 2005 to April 2007. Yann then moved on to ADVA, where they initially worked as a Sales Manager for Belgium-Netherlands from April 2007 to January 2009. Yann then progressed to become the Sales Director for Benelux from February 2009 to May 2020, responsible for leading regional sales and presales activities. Yann now holds the position of Vice President of Sales for Northwest Europe at ADVA, a role they started in June 2020.

Yann Evain began their education journey in 1983 at Athénée de Chênée, where they completed their college degree in an unspecified field of study. Yann then continued their studies at the University of Liège from 1989 to 1995, focusing on electrical engineering and obtaining a Master's degree. Following this, they enrolled at Université catholique de Louvain in 1995 and completed an MBA in management in 1996. In terms of additional certifications, Yann completed a course called "Learning Personal Branding" offered by LinkedIn and obtained it in September 2020.
