Laura Fern (Palma) serves as the Senior Director of Content Development and Founding Principal at Uncommon Schools, where a commitment to diversity practices and family engagement is evident. With experience as a Principal Fellow, Laura co-founded the organization’s first K-4 turnaround initiative in Camden, NJ, and led efforts in curriculum development for literacy and mathematics across multiple cities. Additional roles include Adjunct Professor at Relay Graduate School of Education, where curriculum development and compliance oversight were key responsibilities, and as an Educational Policy & Advocacy National Fellow at AMERICA ACHIEVES, INC. Laura's educational background includes a Doctor of Education in Higher Education Administration from Rowan University, along with multiple Master’s degrees and a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education from Elizabethtown College.
