Emily Tourtelot has worked in various roles since 2014. Emily began their career as a Volunteer Undergraduate Lab Assistant at the University of Oregon, where they analyzed forensically sensitive human remains and wrote case reports. Emily also served as a Volunteer Teaching Assistant in the Human Osteology Lab, instructing complex qualitative concepts to 25 students in a graduate level course. Additionally, they were the Sailing Team Captain, interacting with multiple stakeholders, and the Accessible Education Center Notetaker, collaborating with peers and program directors.
In 2017, Tourtelot became a Lead Medical Scribe at Scribe X, digitally documenting fast-paced doctor/patient encounters and training scribes and doctors in regards to policies, procedures, and protocols.
From 2019-2021, Tourtelot worked at Vacasa as a Claims Coordinator, organizing and filing claims with third party insurance for damage, theft, and injury. Emily also planned and spearheaded multiple projects to improve team efficiency and increase profitability, as well as developed resource materials to improve and enhance new hire training.
Most recently, Tourtelot has been a Project Specialist and Project Coordinator at Adpearance since 2021.
Emily Tourtelot attended the University of Oregon from 2013 to 2017, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Physical and Biological Anthropology and Psychology. In 2018, they obtained a HIPAA Certification from Scribe X. Emily is also pursuing a Yoga Instructor Certification - Level I from VY Vinyasa Yoga.
