Hannah Dotson is a Senior Scientist at Addgene since July 2022, following a significant tenure at Boston University from September 2015 to July 2022, where roles included Postdoctoral Research Associate and Graduate Student under Professor John T. Ngo in the Department of Biomedical Engineering. During this time, Hannah developed a versatile and tunable synthetic biology system regulated by FDA-approved small molecules, leading to the creation of a novel drug-controlled transcription factor system derived from the NS3 protease of the hepatitis C virus. Hannah's research also designed an adaptable drug-inducible system for transcription factors and enzymes, utilizing a chemically-inducible dimerization system for regulating gene expression. Earlier career experiences include teaching and research roles at Caltech and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Hannah holds a PhD in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from Boston University and a BS in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from Caltech.
