Thomas Brostrøm has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Thomas is currently the Chief Investment Officer at ACWA Power since 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Shell as the Executive Vice President Global Renewable Generation from February 2022 to October 2023, and as the Senior Vice President Global Renewable Solutions from August 2021 to February 2022. Before joining Shell, Thomas was on garden leave until August 2021, preparing to join the company. Previously, they held leadership positions at Ørsted, where they served as the President and CEO Offshore, North America from August 2015 to October 2020. Thomas also worked at DONG Energy Wind Power, holding roles such as Director Markets & Pipeline, Head of Project Development UK, Senior Manager of Renewables Strategy & Performance, and Business Developer and M&A. Thomas began their career as an Associate at Straumur Investment Bank and an Investment Analyst at BankInvest / NorthCap Partners. Thomas also has experience as a Financial Analyst at COWI and worked as an Export Trainee at the Royal Danish Embassy in Berlin. Additionally, they served as an Instructor of Corporate Finance at Aarhus School of Business.
Thomas Brostrøm attended Oregon State University from 2002, studying Economics. Thomas then pursued a M.Sc in Finance and International Business at Aarhus University from 2003 to 2006. Continuing their education, Brostrøm became a CFA Candidate at the CFA Institute from 2007 to 2009. Additionally, they also had a period of study at Harvard University in 2005.
