Yichao Jia has had a varied work experience. From 2017 to present, they have worked as an Electrical Engineer at ACTON, where they have been responsible for hardware design, prototyping, implementation, and reliability testing of components for electric personal transportation vehicles such as electric skateboards and scooters, as well as ECU and remote control PCB layout design and upgradation. Yichao has also done Li-ion battery test and failure analysis, created test plans, pass/fail criteria, and provided manufacturability/testability feedback for yield improvement and cycle time reduction.

From 2013 to 2017, they worked as a Student Supervisor at Purdue University Dining & Catering, where they guided and supervised an assigned team, trained and mentored the workforce to provide exceptional services, streamlined team operations to achieve above 10% efficiency increase and cut labor cost by 8%, and developed strong relationships within the team, escalating total sales and customer satisfaction.

From 2012 to 2013, they were the Vice President of Human Resources Department at Purdue University Chinese Students & Scholars Association, where they directed and coordinated annually recruitment events and galas, resulting in consistent event success and above 100% growth in member base, and oversaw staff performance and analyzed operations to boost student satisfaction by 11%.

Finally, in 2012, they were a Manufacturing Engineer Intern at Dalian University of Technology, where they participated in manufacturing of injection, die cast, extrusion moulds, and workholding fixtures, experienced with metal stamping, heat treatment, CNC fixtures installation, and multiple testing machines, and maintained effective working relationships with engineers, technicians, staff members, and contractors.

Yichao Jia graduated from Purdue University in 2015 with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
