Wilson is a principal of Kemmons Wilson Companies. He is actively involved in the private investments initiative. His primary focus is to seek out, analyze and recommend investment opportunities, particularly operating businesses. Additionally, he has oversight responsibilities for the Family of Orange Lake Resorts headquartered in Orlando, Florida. He works closely with that company’s senior leadership on a variety of operational functions, management development and the creation of long-term strategies. Currently, Spence is on several other professional boards, including Kemmons Wilson Insurance Group and Innova. Philanthropic/civic boards include the National Civil Rights Museum, the Memphis Chairman’s Circle, the Memphis Chamber of Commerce, the FedEx/St. Jude Classic and Cordaid. Wilson received a bachelor’s degree in commerce & business administration from the University of Alabama and a master’s of business administration from the University of Memphis.
