Rachel Slaybaugh is an accomplished professional in the fields of climate technology and nuclear engineering, currently serving as a Board Member and People and Culture Committee Chair at Fervo Energy, as well as a Board Member at Fourth Power. As a Partner and former Principal at DCVC, Rachel focuses on supporting entrepreneurs addressing significant global challenges while managing a deep tech venture fund exceeding $2 billion. Additional board roles include Independent Board Member at Radiant and Board Observer at Brimstone Energy and Petra. Rachel has an extensive academic background, having served as an Associate Professor at UC Berkeley, where notable contributions include founding the Nuclear Innovation Bootcamp and publishing numerous research articles. Rachel holds a PhD in Nuclear Engineering and Engineering Physics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a BS in Nuclear Engineering from Penn State University.
