David Welch is an experienced process electrician currently employed at Cleveland-Cliffs since July 2021. Prior to this role, Welch spent over 18 years at bp, serving in various capacities including Crude and Coking Asset Coordinator, where responsibilities involved coordinating operations and maintenance, and the Crude and Coking Operations Shift Supervisor, focusing on performance management and operational procedures. Additionally, Welch held the position of I&E Maintenance Supervisor, overseeing maintenance on electrical and instrumentation systems. Earlier in the career, Welch worked at Bethlehem Steel as a Senior Systems Technician/Supervisor and at Inland Steel as a Journeyman Electrician/Systems Technician, gaining expertise in electrical and instrumentation within the steel industry. Welch holds a Bachelor of Science in Management from Indiana Wesleyan University and an Electronics degree from Valparaiso Technical Institute.
