Michael Worthington is a seasoned football professional currently serving as the First Team Coach at Ramsbottom United Football Club since November 2023, with a focus on coaching and analysis. Concurrently, Michael has been a Coach Developer for The Football Association since April 2017, delivering UEFA B & C Coaching courses, and has acted as an FA Licensed Tutor for Level 1 and Level 2 courses. Michael’s experience encompasses roles such as Sports Lecturer at Accrington & Rossendale College and Head of Men's Football, overseeing player recruitment and coaching at the college level. Previous managerial positions include First Team Manager at Glossop North End AFC and First Team Coach at Clitheroe Football Club, where the club achieved its highest league finish. Michael also held significant roles in youth football development, including Head of Development at AFC Darwen, and Youth Team Manager at Nelson Football Club. Michael holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Education from the University of Central Lancashire and a Bachelor of Arts in Sports Coaching from the same institution.
