Irene Vela Harris has held a variety of positions in the document control field since 1990. From 1990 to 2006, they worked as a Document Control Specialist for both Parsons Engineering and Alimak Hek. From 2007-2010, they held multiple roles at William Jacob Management, Inc., including Procurement Specialist, Social Media Marketing Manager, Document Control Manager, and Office Manager. In 2010, they joined the Board of Directors at the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. From 2017-2019, they worked as a Document Control Administrator/Technical Assistant at WSP USA and as a Production Team Member at Optimized Process Designs LLC. From 2020-2021, they were a QA Document Control Supervisor at Catalent Pharma Solutions. Currently, they are a Project Document Control Specialist at Access Sciences.

Irene Vela Harris has an extensive educational background. In 1998, they earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from LeTourneau University. Irene then went on to obtain their Master of Business Administration from University of Phoenix in 2003-2006. In 2010-2012, Harris earned their Master of Health Administration from University of Phoenix in the field of Health/Health Care Administration/Management. Irene also obtained a Six Sigma Lean Certified from Institute of Project Management in 2015. Additionally, they have several certifications, including Project Management Foundations: Quality from LinkedIn in 2022, Procore Certified: Project Manager (Construction Financials) from Procore Technologies in 2018, Procore Certificate: Project Management (Core Tools) from Procore Technologies in 2018, Procore Certified from Procore Technologies in 2018, and Procore Certified: Student from Procore Technologies in 2018.
