Katelyn Polk serves as a Staff Attorney at Legal Aid Chicago since October 2020, following a comprehensive legal education as a J.D. Candidate at Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law from August 2017 to May 2020. Previous experience at Legal Aid Chicago as a Legal Intern in the summer of 2019, along with internships at the Shriver Center on Poverty Law and the Lawyers' Committee for Better Housing, has provided Katelyn with a strong foundation in legal practice. Before pursuing a law degree, Katelyn worked as a Legal Assistant at Winstead PC and contributed as a Research Assistant for the Texas Census Research Data Center, where data consolidation and verification was a key responsibility. Additional early experiences include an internship with the State of Texas - DFPS, where Katelyn engaged with foster and adoptive families, and a role as a Paraprofessional in a special education classroom, supporting students in their social and educational development. Katelyn holds a Bachelor of Arts in History and Sociology from Texas A&M University, obtained in 2015.
