Shelby Farthing

Shelby grew up in a military family that moved frequently but spent the majority of her life in South Carolina. There, she attended the University of South Carolina (USC) where she completed a Bachelor of Arts in Public Health, a graduate certificate in Drug and Addiction Studies, and a Master of Public Health in Health Services, Policy, and Management by age 22. Shelby then relocated to Anchorage, AK in 2020 to join her family.

Shelby has worked at the Alzheimer’s Resource of Alaska (ARA) since July 2020 where she served as a Caregiver Connection Specialist during the two-year Caregiver Connection Pilot Program. She will be serving as project coordinator for an upcoming ARA project in Mat-Su. She is passionate about supporting family dementia caregivers and advocating for individuals that are living with Alzheimer’s disease or related dementia (ADRD).
