Catarina Pinheiro is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in data engineering, finance, and operations, currently serving as the Head of Data at Abstra since April 2021. With a solid academic background, Catarina is a Doctoral Researcher at the Programa de Engenharia Civil da COPPE/UFRJ, specializing in artificial intelligence and computer vision applications in the oil and gas sector, while also having focused on numerical methods during the Master's program. Previous roles include AI Researcher at Fundacao Coppetec, where deep machine learning techniques were applied to optimize processes in the oil and gas industries, as well as engineering internships and educational roles earlier in the career. Catarina holds a Doctor's Degree in Computational Systems and an MBA in Fiscal and Tax Management, along with a Master's Degree in Structures and Materials and a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
