Katy Hetherington has over a decade of experience in investor relations, corporate communications, and public affairs within the financial services sector. Currently serving as Investor Relations Manager and Global Head of External Communications at abrdn since September 2011, Katy has successfully delivered high-quality communications to support and enhance the company's reputation, particularly during its merger with Aberdeen Asset Management. Prior to this role, Katy worked as a Public Affairs Consultant, engaging with senior leaders and policymakers while also contributing to policy research and organizing influential events. As a graduate trainee at Standard Life, Katy gained diverse experience across various teams, including a role as UK & GCC People Consultant, focusing on strategic initiatives and human resources. Katy's earlier experience includes serving as a Student and Graduate Employment Advisor at the University of Edinburgh, where insight into the employment market was developed. Katy holds an MA(Hons) in Philosophy and English Literature from the University of Edinburgh.
