John Altamirano

Quality Compliance Systems Manager at Able Freight Services Inc.

John Altamirano has worked in a variety of roles in the food safety and quality assurance industry since 2002. John began their career as a Data Encoder at Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) in 2002. In 2012, they became a Laboratory Assistant at Cal Poly Pomona, where they performed various analyses, managed chemical and reagent inventory, and trained new laboratory aides. In 2014, they held a contract role as a Microbiology Laboratory Technician at Overhill Farms, where they sampled pre-operational swabs and environmental monitoring of Salmonella and Listeria sp. and performed in-house microbiological testing of finished products. In 2015, they held a contract role as a Quality Assurance Technician at Golden State Foods, where they conducted line tests, prepared and processed in-house analytical testing, and documented and recorded laboratory results. In 2016, they joined Juicero as a Quality Assurance Lead, where they managed and supervised a team of six, collaborated with other key departmental leads, and initiated an operator mixer program. In 2017, they became the Quality Control Compliance Supervisor at Stremicks Heritage Foods, LLC, where they reviewed and audited Aseptic dairy production paperwork, issued certificates of analysis and destruction, and audited daily production case count reports. In 2020, they became a Founding Partner at JNK Food Safety Consulting. Most recently, in 2021, they became a Food Safety Manager, SQF Practitioner, and PCQI at Able Freight Services LLC., where they monitor day-to-day processing operations, creates and implements internal monitoring audits, supports efficient quality management systems, and assists in upgrading factory performance standards.

John Altamirano completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Biology/Biological Sciences, General from California State Polytechnic University-Pomona in 2013. Prior to that, they obtained an Associate's degree in Natural Sciences from Mt. San Antonio College between 2004 and 2007.
