Cihan Uzunpinar, PhD, MBA, currently serves as Associate Director at Abbott, leading strategic sourcing for Free Style Libre components, including molded plastics, metal mechanical components, and electronics. In addition, Cihan is the Founder of MedTech Materials LLC, a consulting firm that provides technical and commercial advisory services to medical startups and established device producers focused on material selection. Prior experience includes a Senior Marketing Manager role at Ascend Performance Materials, where Cihan worked on the Acteev Biodefend brand and led product commercialization initiatives, as well as serving in various technical leadership positions at the same company. Cihan's career began with Kordsa Global as a Process Engineer and includes a research assistantship at Auburn University. Educational qualifications comprise a PhD in Polymer/Plastics Engineering from Auburn University, an MBA from Georgia Tech, and a BASc in Textile Sciences and Engineering from Uludag University.
