Stephen Berry has extensive experience in the field of PCB design. Stephen began their career in 1985 as a PCB Designer Contractor for 3M Broadcasting, where they performed manual layout and design of printed circuit boards for video and television broadcasting systems. From 1986 to 1989, they worked as a PCB Designer/Draftsman at Kustom Music, Inc., handling the layout, design, and drafting of professional music equipment.
Berry then joined Boeing in 1989 as a Senior Level Designer Drafter, where they were responsible for PCB layout and design for audio and video avionics equipment, as well as the design of PCBs and mechanical hardware for defense programs. Stephen stayed with Boeing until 1998.
After leaving Boeing, Berry worked as a Senior PCB Designer at Adtran from 1998 to 2001, where they designed high-speed telecommunications equipment, including single-board computers, power supplies, and DSL modems. Stephen then moved on to Mercury Systems, where they worked as a Senior PCB Designer from 2001 to 2011, focusing on the development of custom high-speed single board computers and high-speed data transmission boards for various industries, including commercial and military radar systems.
Berry then took on the role of Senior PCB Designer at Berry Design, their own self-employed private contracting business, from 2011 to 2012. During this time, they supported military hardware refurbishment contracts for the US Army and Air Force.
From 2012 to 2015, Berry worked as a Senior PCB Designer at Acuity Brands, designing micro-processor-controlled switched-mode power supply drivers for LED light boards. Stephen then joined Adecco Staffing, USA as a Senior PCB Designer for a short period in 2012, where they performed PCB layout and part library management duties.
In 2016, Berry worked as a Senior PCB Designer at Seneca Resources LLC before joining Abaco Systems, Inc. in 2017 as a Senior PCB Design Engineer. In this role, they collaborated with multiple designers to produce world-class printed circuit board products for commercial and military avionics customers, using Mentor Graphics Expedition software.
Throughout their career, Stephen Berry has demonstrated their expertise in PCB design, particularly in the areas of high-speed telecommunications equipment, avionics hardware, and LED lighting controls.
Stephen Berry attended The University of Alabama in Huntsville from 1981 to 1982, where they pursued Electrical and Electronics Engineering but did not obtain a degree. Prior to that, from 1979 to 1981, they studied Design Electronics at Huntsville Center for Technology and obtained a certificate for that program. Later, between 1996 and 1999, Stephen attended Heritage Bible College and earned a Bachelor of Religion degree with a focus on Biblical Studies. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained a Remote Work Foundations certification from LinkedIn in June 2020.
