Naveen Rao is an accomplished ophthalmologist specializing in cornea, cataract, and anterior segment surgery, currently serving at Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston since October 2022. In addition to clinical practice, Naveen holds the position of Medical Director at VisionGift East and has active roles in prestigious organizations such as the American Academy of Ophthalmology as Chair of the Cataract Committee and as a member of the Cornea Clinical Committee for the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. As a Principal Investigator at NorthEast Eye Research Associates and an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Tufts University School of Medicine, Naveen is committed to both research and education. Previous positions include Senior Staff Physician at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center and Cornea Fellow at both Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston and Tufts Medical Center, following an ophthalmology residency at Oregon Health and Science University. Naveen earned a Doctor of Medicine from Baylor College of Medicine and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Duke University.
