Robert Zimmerman is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in laboratory assessment and analysis. As the Lead Assessor at the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA) since July 2015, Robert evaluates laboratories conducting chemical and forensic testing. At the Homeland Security Studies and Analysis Institute since January 2006, Robert serves as a Fellow and Distinguished Analyst, specializing in biometrics and international standards while maintaining expertise in Customs and Border Protection technologies. Previously, Robert held the position of Chemist - Director at U.S. Customs and Border Protection from March 1974 to February 2006, overseeing teams that developed new testing methodologies for field laboratories. Robert received a BS in Chemistry from the University of New Orleans and attended Louisiana State University.
