Susan Liu is an experienced professional currently working in the investment team at 8VC since October 2024. Previously, Susan served as a Fellow at Insight Partners from January 2023 to September 2024 and completed a PhD at Duke University from August 2019 to September 2024. Experience also includes a fellowship at 5AM Ventures in early 2022 and a role as Senior Tech Transfer Fellow at Duke's Office for Translation & Commercialization between October 2020 and 2022. Earlier research at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard involved cell fate perturbation projects and utilizations of advanced techniques like CRISPR screens and single-cell sequencing. Additionally, a stint as a Scientific Scholar at Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research focused on developing computational methods in oncology drug discovery. Susan holds a Bachelor's degree from Wellesley College and has a strong foundation in biomathematics, bioinformatics, and computational biology.
