Sean Carim is a highly experienced professional in the field of microbiology with a robust background in research and leadership. Currently serving as a Manager, Team Lead, Principal Scientist, Senior Scientist, and Scientist at 64x Bio since July 2020, Sean has developed expertise in advanced genetic and microbiological techniques. Prior to this role, Sean was a Doctoral Student at the University of California, Berkeley from August 2015 to July 2020, focusing on technologies for phenotyping gene disruption mutations and studying resistance to phage tail-like bacteriocins. Additional research experience includes engineering microbiological sensing tools at MIT Research Laboratory of Electronics and developing dry eye research equipment at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Sean holds a PhD in Microbiology from the University of California, Berkeley, and a BS in Biology from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
