Alex Ruck Keene KC (Hon) serves as a Professor of Practice at King's College London since September 2016, co-leading the Mental Health, Ethics and Law MSc and lecturing on various law programs. As a barrister at 39 Essex Chambers since 2002, Alex has also held advisory roles in the UK House of Lords related to human rights inquiries and served as a legal adviser for the Independent Review of the Mental Health Act 1983. Additionally, Alex is a Visiting Senior Lecturer at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience and has been involved in consultancy roles with the Law Commission of England and Wales. Academic qualifications include an MA (Hons) in History from the University of Oxford and an MA (Hons) in International Economics and Strategic Studies from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies.
