James Munroe is an accomplished academic and product leader with extensive experience in oceanography, computational fluid dynamics, and scientific computing. Currently serving as the Product and Community Lead at 2i2c, James Munroe is responsible for managing software developers on ocean visualization projects. Previously, at Memorial University of Newfoundland, James Munroe held the position of Associate Professor, where contributions included supervising graduate students, securing over $100k in funding, and course development in various scientific disciplines. A Visiting Fellow at The Australian National University, James Munroe innovated big data applications in climate and oceanographic modeling and developed a widely used Python package. James Munroe earned a PhD in Physics from the University of Alberta and a B.Math. in Applied Mathematics from the University of Waterloo.
