Courtney Kissler will be taking the reins as Chief Technical Officer and SVP of Technology at Zulily. Kissler most recently worked as VP of Global Technology at Nike and will now oversee operations for yet another retail giant.
Kissler replaces Luke Friang, who held a combined role of Chief Technology & Information Officer. after working at the company for 10 years.
A seasoned tech executive, Kissler helped lead Nike’s inventory and fulfillment systems for over three years. Previously, she was VP of Technology at Starbucks and before that spent the bulk of her career at Nordstrom holding various tech-related leadership positions.
Acquired by QVC’s parent company Qurate in 2015, the e-commerce retailer, which is catered toward moms and kids, saw in revenue last year, bringing in — nearly breaking even after taking a $1 billion loss in 2019.
Other e-commerce competitors like Amazon have seen as more and more customers turn to online shopping during the pandemic. According to , Kissler said Zulily is focused on using its data more effectively for personalization and predictive analytics.
Kissler will report directly to Zulily president Jeff Yurcisin who joined the company in 2018 after serving executive roles at Amazon and Shopbop.
