Three more Twitter leaders have made their exits from the social media giant in the wake of Elon Musk’s takeover announcement: VP of Product Management Ilya Brown, VP of Twitter Service Katrina Lane and Head of Data Science Max Schmeiser.
Bloomberg, , reported that each executive is departing on their own terms and hasn’t been pushed out. Brown that neither Musk’s $44 billion deal to buy Twitter, which hasn’t yet closed, nor uncertainty within the organization influenced his decision to leave.
The trio of departures shortly follows news that the company’s General Manager of Consumer Kayvon Beykpour and revenue product lead Bruce Falck were pushed out of the tech firm. Beykpour, a seven-year company veteran, learned he was out of a job while on his paternity leave.
In a statement to Bloomberg, a Twitter spokesperson addressed the most recent executive departures and said, "We are thankful for all of their hard work and leadership."
While the newly vacant desks at Twitter’s HQ can’t be definitively linked to Musk’s tumultuous takeover bid, they do come at a terrible time for the company as among rank-and-file employees likely remains at an all-time high.
Employees have legitimate cause for concern, as Musk has reportedly proposed cutting jobs and slicing executive pay, should his plan to buy Twitter go through. Additionally, CEO Parag Agrawal has already announced that the company has frozen hiring and rescinded some job offers.
